I once experienced conflicting thoughts when I was about enrolling in the university. I had always admired accountant and wish to be one someday. But to be an accountant, you need to be very good in mathematics and I was really so weak in it. Now that was the problem. I can’t be accepted to study accounting without having a good mastery and grade in mathematics. What will I do? Thoughts starts running through my mind voices came calling with their different sounds and opinions and I was really confused on which to take. At a point I even felt discouraged and decided I will just stay at home that year to allow myself decide on what I want to become in future. Now this is what speechless voices can do to you. Discouragement. It can make you feel as if it is the end of life and even stops you from becoming what you wished to become in future. As a strong and determine person I have always consider myself to be I didn’t give up nor allow the wrong voice to over shadow the right voice. The right voice kept on telling me to search in to myself again I will find what I actually have a passion for. So I decided to search through my mind and capabilities again and I discovered that I was only carried away by the fancy things that goes with being an accountants. Like how they dresses and sit in air conditioned offices and not what I really had a passion for. So I decided to think big because only those that think big can achieve big things in life. And here I found myself being a journalist and an inspirational writer.

How do you listen to your inner voice?
The inner voice is key to many things and it takes a lot of wisdom to understand this. You often hear people say, “Trust your instincts”, “Follow your intuition” and “Listen to your inner voice.” That all sounds great, right? If only it was that easy then many won’t fail in life.
When you can listen to the right inner voice, you can make better and faster decisions, solve problems with greater ease, and live a more fulfilled and happy life. But how?
1. Know who you are
There are different kinds of people with different ways of thinking. Some people mostly have negative thoughts about sometime while others always try to see the positive part of things. For you to be able to listen to the right echoes of the inner voice, you must first of all start seeing yourself in a positive way. With that, you will be able to defeat negative thoughts. Having negative thoughts only open room for negative voices echoing in your head.
You need to understand that Insecurity is an inner-strength killer? Your personality is the foundation of power. Get to know it well. Use tools like to understand who you are and how you function best. Then, work on getting comfortable in your own skin. One of the reasons we don’t listen to the right inner voice is because we are ashamed of ourselves or how we look. And being ashamed will give you voices like “I am not welcome here, people don’t like me, I am not attractive enough for that guy” everyone is beautifully made and thus shouldn’t feel inferior.
The happier you are with yourself, the lesser the outside world can do damage, and the more you can give in peace. Inner voice is your best friend and it always guides you to the right path.
Take a deep breathe, off the TV and sit quietly on your own then you will hear those voices popping in. I know meditation seems to have become the panacea for everything that ails you, and there is a good reason for that: it works. It’s one of the fastest, easiest and most effective ways to tap into your inner voice.
“The gap between understanding and misunderstanding can best be bridged by thought!” ― Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Meditation sharpens your awareness skills. It helps you find stillness. The voice can be heard within stillness and presence. The more you practice quieting that noisy, fearful voice, the more you’ll hear the commanding voice that guides and protects throughout your journey of success and life.
3. Pay attention to your emotions
Our emotion has a great role to play with the kind of voices we hear in our heads or thoughts that comes through our minds. Although we refer to it as an “inner voice,” your intuition might not manifest itself as a voice at all. It might just be a feeling.
“You will never follow your own inner voice until you clear up the doubts in your mind.”― Roy T. Bennett
So, when emotions comes calling, it is advisable that you not shrug them off or feel guilty for having them. Instead, try to decipher what the emotion is really trying to tell you. You can even have a conversation with the emotion.
“The world within you is of greater consequence than the world around you.” -Matshona Dhliwayo
Also, pay attention to any bodily sensations like constipation, digestive issues, and a headache, or fatigue. All of these can also be ways that your inner guidance system is trying to tell you something.
4. Decides to listen to your inner voice
Most people don’t know how to listen to their inner voice because they haven’t made up their mind to listen to it. Learning how to listen to your inner voice can be as simple as setting the intention every day to tap into it. You can’t listen to something you haven’t decided to so if you want to listen to the right voice that echoes in your head, decide on it today.
5. Focus on your initial impressions
Sometimes we have both an immediate feeling and counter-feeling. The immediate feeling is your initial impression. The counter-feeling is a cognitive which is your thoughts. Any feelings or worries such as “What ‘should’ I think or feel?” or “What would other people do?” That initial impression is your inner voice. Your intuition speaks to you with your inner voice to say to move forward or be cautious. So you need to understand this to be able to know when your inner voice is saying or directing you to do something.
“The more you trust your intuition, the more empowered you become, the stronger you become, and the happier you become.”~ Gisele Bundchen
6. Inner voice can be rebellious
Inner voice can ask you to make bold decisions at times when you don’t want to, it can make you leave someone you don’t wish to leave but if you listen to it best you will realize that you are making the right decision. It always tries to find solutions to your immediate problems. Acting on what your inner voice instructs could be the right decision in that moment to solve a particular problem.
