You were born in one family, for a particular community. You are an individual for a unique purpose; just as unique as your thump print. There must be a way you can just live a life as unique as your personality. You shouldn’t defile deontology but you must not try to be like the crowd. It’s so amazing how we are physically the same but never identical. God is wonderful. You are the person with the key (solution) to one particular societal issue. However, if you keep trying to be uniform with other folks you won’t have the time to figure out who you really are. That is the problem with uniformity.
Your family is facing some challenges right now; your community is retarded in one thing or the other. If you can succeed to stay in your right mind and live only your life, you will bring your solution. A lot of things you see the crowd doing are mere distractions. Never you desire to be like the crowd, desire to become the best you. If you must do something no one has ever done, then accept being like no one else. God created you that way. That is why you must understand The power of a personal philosophy.
The world is tilted towards “fashion” and a huge majority of folks are working so hard just to identify themselves with this; that is the problem with uniformity
Observe the world around you very keenly. What will you say is that thing that is true about 90% of the folks you see? The people you see are attempted copies of TV and social media realities. The lives they live are not even theirs. They say the world is a global village, but it’s so unfortunate how our culture is being diluted.
Men want to draw tattoo on their bodies, women cover their faces with chemicals, extend the length of their nails with something they themselves do not know, cover their heads with something they have been taught to call “human hair”. Dear reader, don’t be carried away by this “wind of change”. An overwhelming majority of folks are concentrating on this and they just can’t see beyond their noses anymore. You will definitely seem odd by being different, but please, never give up being true to yourself. Worry only about the things that really matter as far as your role to positive change in society is concerned. Don’t be like others . Their life is simply a masquerade. I pleasure in reminding you that the recent edition of Miss Universe saw the emergence of black lady who has not tampered with her God-given beauty. It is therefore this same world that acknowledge that all other thing is but futility.
A poem that captures the worthlessness of what has been called “fashion”:
Is that what you call it? Fashion?
Don’t you think it’s misleading?
If this be it, then let’s call it off.
Look at that lady not far away
She is half naked and scary
Look at her! She’s not ashamed
She’s vehemently auctioned her dignity.
Her appearance, a temptation:
Her water melons, a meal for a lustful eye
The nipples, peeping at passers-by
The slits of her skirt kissing her ass
Now she makes her behinds a swinging pendulum;
Vagabonding so hastily, but to nowhere.
Where is our culture, African woman?
“Christ in me”, is what you keep saying
Christ in a tempting body?
Is this what we call civilization?
I will rather pay for primitiveness!
Is this the emergence we are envisaging?
Is this the modern girl you promised me?
If this be the modernism we preach,
Then, preacher man, I’m not a believer anymore.
A huge majority of folks are swayed by a high sense of sensuality and it is gradually becoming a standard; that is the problem with uniformity
Sexuality and physical pleasure of all forms and sizes are the order of the day. As a matter of fact, disorder is becoming the order of the day. The devil is in the detail.
Dear reader, if you can’t be different from others by living your own life, a life that coincides with your vision, you just might end up saying like others: ” life is unfair”. People fail to understand that what you become is simply an outcome of what you do.
Your friends will talk to you and give you examples of people who done exploits because they take drugs, drink themselves to stupor and get bold.
What you must know is that everybody fears something. Never you think that you are the only person who fears. What you must develop is a genuine way to overcome your fears. If you don’t you might make the mistake of aligning with they that say you need to smoke, drug yourself or take one above the eight, just to be able to “function well” . They will definitely show people who are “doing well” because they live such a life. You may even come to notice that everyone you know lives this way. However, never forget that you and individual with a unique life to live. Don’t do it! That is wisdom.
All the rash fellows around are simply trying to move with the wind of society. However, you cannot perceive the beauty of your God-made personality if you look at life through the eyes of the crowd. How trivial often pleasures of the moment, how fatal its consequences! You must be wise. The Man who is wise rises above the hysteria that characterizes the world. In the words of James Allen,
He whose awakening consciousness has become alive to its lofty possibilities, who is beginning to shake off the darkness of ignorance in which the world is enveloped, rises before the stars have ceased their vigil and grappling with the darkness within his soul strives by holy aspiration, to perceive the light of Truth while the unawakened world dreams on.
What do you make of the way people use social media?
The world is in perpetual motion. Be careful what you copy. If so many people are doing it, it doesn’t make it right. Right is right and wrong is wrong. You are a wonderful person, do not allow yourself to be corrupted by the virus of our time. I can’t what particularly to mention concerning social media, but you are definitely aware of the wayward delirium on such platforms. Choose to do only what will add to your progress in life.
I will like to leave you with the inspiring wordings of Desiderata:
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Do not miss what comes in the next part
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself……….
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.
